card with all of the issuers. \u00a0My wife has had two American Express cards, and she has had to cancel both of them because their annual fees became benefit prohibitive. \u00a0Getting this card will allow her to establish a long term relationship with American Express without paying for that relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Plus each year with an American Express card you get the chance to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanexpress.com\/us\/small-business\/shop-small\/?extlink=SBS2014_Search_Consumer\">Small Business Saturday<\/a>. \u00a0I hope this card arrives before Saturday so I can register the card and pick up an additional $30 by spending at least $10 at three merchants or in three transactions from the same merchant on the upcoming Small Business Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The 60,000 points won&#8217;t last forever, but it should be enough to get me two free nights out of the card somewhere fun. \u00a0Here is their award chart:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6125\" style=\"width: 693px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6125\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6125\" src=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Screen-Shot-2014-11-23-at-10.43.46-PM.png\" alt=\"Hhonors award chart\" width=\"683\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Screen-Shot-2014-11-23-at-10.43.46-PM.png 683w, https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Screen-Shot-2014-11-23-at-10.43.46-PM-300x159.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-6125\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hilton&#8217;s Award Tiers<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It appears as though I could get lots of nights at the tier 1, but they only have a handful of hotels in that category. \u00a0Even in category 2 they only have about 115 hotels or so, which isn&#8217;t very many. \u00a0More than likely I&#8217;ll have to use them on category 3 or 4. \u00a0They have 335 hotels in the USA that fit in their category 3. \u00a0If I could get three free nights from the card it would be awesome.<\/p>\n<p>The spending requirement for the card is only $1000 within 3 months, which is easy.<\/p>\n<h2>Slowly Building my AwardWallet<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;m really starting to rack up points and miles these days. \u00a0These two cards will help me put up another 105,000 miles for my upcoming travels. \u00a0It makes trip planning easy when I can use my miles at Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, and Club Carlson hotels all on the same trip. \u00a0None of this happened overnight, but with some diligence and work ethic it can happen to you too.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is that you&#8217;ve got to start today. \u00a0Don&#8217;t wait for the opportunity to take a trip to come up before you start racking up points. \u00a0You&#8217;ll need the points ready to roll. \u00a0Choose cards that don&#8217;t charge annual fees, or those that waive them for the first year. \u00a0Doing so will keep your costs down and your amount of travel up, which is right where it should be.<\/p>\n<p>What card(s) will you be getting next?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Collecting points and miles is a fun hobby. \u00a0Spending them is a lifestyle. \u00a0Lately my lifestyles has been stagnant, but the hobby has kept me busy. \u00a0Like a busy little bee I&#8217;ve been working on accruing more miles as long &hellip;
