countries I&#8217;ve been to some very poor countries, but absolutely nowhere is comparable to the country of Haiti. \u00a0I lived in Paraguay for 2 years and I&#8217;d tell you that Paraguay is a palace compared to Haiti. \u00a0The earthquake definitely didn&#8217;t help the poverty, but definitely made it worse. \u00a0It will humble you more than a slice of humble pie. \u00a0My trip in 201o, post-earthquake, made me more grateful for my circumstances than anything else I&#8217;ve ever experienced. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Beautiful Beaches-<\/strong> The Dominican Republic is did a midday mass in the cathedral during the Semana Santa (Holy Week). \u00a0The cathedral was packed, and we were in the very back of the building, which \u00a0made it really hard to see what was happening. \u00a0Even though I&#8217;m not Catholic, it is incredible to see the first cathedral in the Americas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Walk the Plank Zipline-\u00a0<\/strong>There is an ecotourism resort in Samana, about 2 hours from Santo Domingo that is an incredible and inexpensive adventure. \u00a0Hike to waterfalls and isolated beaches, see how chocolate is made, feed the monkeys, and zipline
