{"id":1475,"date":"2011-11-24T00:01:58","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T07:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/?p=1475"},"modified":"2012-12-26T16:09:27","modified_gmt":"2012-12-26T23:09:27","slug":"thanksgiving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/?p=1475","title":{"rendered":"Thanksgiving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I look back over the last year I see that I have been blessed in so many ways&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year I was blessed to have a health, happy, and cute baby boy Max.\u00a0 He was born in June and has brought so much happiness to our family already.\u00a0 Family means so much to me and I am thankful that I have a wife and a little boy to brighten my day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since last Thanksgiving I&#8217;ve been able to take a number of trips.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cruise to the Southern Caribbean visiting US and British Virgin Islands, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados.\u00a0 The cruise left out of San Juan, PR, so I was able to see the Pearl of the Caribbean<\/li>\n<li>A <a title=\"Eight Great Days in Costa Rica\" href=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/2011\/11\/01\/eight-great-days-in-costa-rica-part-i-of-ii\/\">week in Costa Rica<\/a> with my wife as our last trip before our son joined us.\u00a0 I vividly remember Max kicking me in the back as I snuggled up to my wife one night.<\/li>\n<li>A <a title=\"Wanderlust: Motorcycle Style\" href=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/2011\/08\/10\/wanderlust-motorcycle-style\/\">motorcycle trip<\/a> of over 1700 miles visiting Northern Idaho, Banff National Park, Glacier National Park, and many other places along the way.<\/li>\n<li>A <a title=\"North Carolina, Here we come!\" href=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/2011\/09\/20\/north-carolina-here-we-come\/\">visit to the Sweet Carolinas<\/a> with my wife and son.\u00a0 It was his first trip!<\/li>\n<li>A family trip to Tennessee where we were able to visit family and see many fun things.\u00a0 We spent a day at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dollywood.com\">Dollywood<\/a>, went to a UT football game, rode down the <a title=\"Virginia Creeper Trail\" href=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/2011\/11\/14\/virginia-creeper-trail\/\">Virginia Creeper<\/a>, and saw the <a title=\"Biltmore Mansion Experience\" href=\"https:\/\/worldwanderlusting.com\/2011\/11\/07\/biltmore-mansion-experience\/\">Biltmore Home<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Traveling is something that I love, and now that I can do it for free it is even better.\u00a0 It is great planning a few wonderful trips each year.\u00a0 My wife has become quite the wanderluster and my son is already jet setting.\u00a0 Together we&#8217;ll visit many places, and we won&#8217;t be paying very much to do it either.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I blog on the side because I enjoy it, but it would never pay the bills for a week!\u00a0 This is just because I enjoy sharing my experiences with other people.\u00a0 It would be great if it could be a full time job, but I don&#8217;t know that I see that in the cards for me.\u00a0 I work at BowenGroup in Idaho Falls and I sell Health, Life, and Disability Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>My work has provided a living for our family and a little bit extra so we can take time off and travel.\u00a0 I enjoy my work and I enjoy working with people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Country<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although I&#8217;m rather pessimistic about our country sometimes, I love this place.\u00a0 I want our country to thrive and for the people who live here to be safe, and be self-sustainable.\u00a0 Visiting Camp Lejuene Marine Corp Base in North Carolina this year has given me a much greater appreciation for our military.\u00a0 They sacrifice MUCHO so we can enjoy this freedom.\u00a0 Thank you for your service.<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to another year of life, travels, and fun.\u00a0 Thanks for Wanderlusting with us.<\/p>\n<p>Score the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and get 40,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
